TESTIMONIAL - BAY HAWK

Bay Hawk and one of his biggest fans, Hazel!

Bay Hawk

Bay Hawk is a 7 year old thoroughbred gelding who had had a minor setback in July 2008. Jo was recommended to me by my father who is the stable manager at Newbury Racecourse.

Jo was due to open the Recuperation Centre in Binfield at the same time I was looking for somewhere to keep Bay Hawk where he could enjoy a holiday and some TLC.

The Equine Recuperation centre proved to be the perfect place for him.

The treatment he has received has been second to none. Jo Kerner treats all the horses in her care as if they were her very own. She uses different vets dependent on what is required and dependent on the owner's preferences. The same applies to farriers.

Jo has great customer service skills ensuring both the owners and their horses receive first class attention. The communicaton is superb. I can phone or e-mail Jo at any time and I always receive a prompt response. It's no surprise that despite only being open for business only approximately 8 months, she already has a waiting list!

Bay Hawk clearly loves being there. His coat has never been shinier and he is completely switched off - which is how you like racehorses to be when they have been let down out of training.

The yard and stables are always spotless, the staff are always polite and courteous and most importantly perhaps, all the horses are well fed, well watered, exercised when they need to be and most importantly extremely happy.

I am still trying to work out how I will break it to Bay Hawk that he hasn't been retired but he is due to go back in training in the next few weeks. I think he is going to really miss Jo and her team, but I will assure him, as soon as he needs another break, he will definitely be returning to Jo's!

Bay Hawk is now with racehorse trainer, Sheena West

Thanks again to Jo and her staff for giving him a well earned break and plenty of TLC!
